As part of the 2022.07 release cycle, I intend to start the soft freeze on Sunday, June 10th, and the hard freeze (at which the release branch forks off) on June 17th.
Please see to it that major changes you want merged get reviewed in time before the soft freeze. I generally trust the maintainers’ judgement on what constitutes a large-impact change, and to hold back on merging between soft and hard freeze.

The current release candidate is stable, and all I’m waiting for is the conclusion of any change log updates during the weekend. I plan to push the button on Monday (2022-08-29).
